AFRL Eligibility

To be eligible to play a footballer must satisfy the following:

Armed Forces Qualification (one of the following)

  • Must have served or be serving in any branch of HM Forces
  • Must have served or be serving in any branch of a Commonwealth Armed Forces
  • Must have served in any branch of a Foreign Armed Forces

or

  • Has received a special invitation to play

Welsh Qualification (one of the following)

  • Must have been born in Wales
  • Has a relative no further than a maternal or paternal grandparent who was born in Wales.
  • Has lived in Wales for 5 or more years.
  • Must have represented a Welsh RL club or pathway team.

AFRL Cymru has a sister team whose players come from all walks of civilian life but come together to show their support for the Armed Forces and their families.

ARMED FORCES AFFILIATES RUGBY LEAGUE
  • Related to a member of HM Forces
  • Work for a public service (Police, Fire, NHS)
  • Civilian who has worked with the military
  • You support the Armed Forces
