CYMRU 

ARMED FORCES RUGBY LEAGUE CYMRU

eAFRL Cymru is a veteran run Armed Forces team which takes Welsh and qualifying players of all ages, gender, and abilities to play matches in support of serving, veterans and the families of the Armed Forces here in Wales.

AFRL Cymru also has a sister team, the Armed Forces Affiliates Rugby League (AFARL), which is mad up of non military players who support the Armed Forces and the aims of the Armed Forces Covenant.

 

What is a Veteran?

Veterans are defined as anyone who has served for at least one day in Her Majesty's Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve) or Merchant Mariners who have seen duty on legally defined military operations. “veteran” will be used to represent all former Armed Forces personnel.

Welsh connection through birth, family, CLUB, Welsh Regiment or residency
Opportunity for non military to play (see AFARL)

AFRL takes from all branches of the Armed Forces. The following have represented past and present AFRL teams.

 

Not just a game but an Event

REMEMBRANCE Game

Annually played in North Wales to pay our respects the Remembrance game is played on the closest Saturday to Remembrance Sunday.

Recognition 

Players and members are recognised for the commitment to the game and AFRL. With cap, playing, and commitment honour presented.

Military Flare

All this is done in a way veterans can remember the Mess and better times.
